Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size Prepare tenders and quotations Instruct apprentices Estimate costs and materials Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner on each call, keeping customer-service at the forefront Diagnose on-site problems, continual value-added communication, and proper maintenance with the customer Work in cooperation with other trades and labourers to ensure that all specifications, legislation/policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project Perform general and specific equipment inspections Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all modern equipment and regulations Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements Train (supplied by IGC) in water filtration Small equipment repair May be required to assist in some handyman tasks
